Despite recent fleet and staff cutbacks, Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, São Paulo Viracopos) will tentatively take delivery of its first of sixty-three A320neo during the last quarter of this year.

The first Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) narrowbodies will arrive in September and enter revenue service on November 25 with daily return flights from Fortaleza International to São Paulo Viracopos followed by a daily service from Fortaleza to Recife on December 9.

From November through to January of next year, Azul will deploy a total of six A320neo on flights to fourteen cities located throughout Brazil's South, Southeast, North, and Northeastern regions including Campinas, Belo Horizonte Tancredo Neves, Porto Alegre International, Recife, Salvador International, Belém International, Manaus International, Porto Seguro, Natal Aluizio Alves, Aracaju, Maceió Zumbi dos Palmares, João Pessoa Castro Pinto International, and Boa Vista, RR.

In November 2014, the Brazilian LCC ordered sixty-three A320neos including thirty-five ordered direct from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) with twenty leased from AerCap and eight leased from GECAS. All aircraft will be powered by CFM LEAP-1A motors.
