Spirit Airlines has delayed an expected bankruptcy court hearing as it continues discussions with the US government on a potential financing package. Ishka's research suggests that current jet fuel prices could add roughly $50 million to the carrier’s monthly fuel bill, compared with the assumptions underpinning its original Chapter 11 restructuring plan.
